Rachel Nichols’ Provocative Reaction To LeBron James, Jeanie Buss Exchange
LeBron James made headlines last week when he was filmed having an especially handsy exchange with Los Angeles Lakers team owner, Jeanie Buss.
It didn’t take long for the video to go mega-viral:

Fallout from the clip was swift. First people noticed that LeBron and his wife, Savannah James, looked particularly tense at a public outing shortly thereafter. Then a troubling video of the pair emerged not long after that.
This week, NBA analyst Rachel Nichols appeared on Fox Sports’ ‘Undisputed’ program with Skip Bayless to offer her provocative reaction to the clip.
“Smart man, LeBron,” she said.
“He is about to go into a summer where he is trying to negotiate a new contract. He wants the max, he wants $54 million a year for three years until he’s 42 years old. And look the Lakers have a history of overpaying aging superstars that they feel loyal to but still a little schmoozing doesn’t hurt.”

The idea that LeBron, arguably the greatest player of all time, has to schmooze for a big payday understandably rubbed some people the wrong way.
But Nichols didn’t stop there.

“As for the Jeanie Buss part of the equation, I don’t have an issue with most of the jokes that went across the internet,” Nichols continued.
“Most of them were in bounds. She’s tough. It’s fine.”
Buss is tough, but she is also no stranger to calling out mistreatment when she experiences it. This is the same woman who earlier this year accused another NBA owner of groping her.
Nichols is no stranger to controversy either. She famously was linked to some pretty explosive Jimmy Butler rumors.

Either way, at some point in the near future this LeBron-Jeanie Buss thing will probably die out.
For now, though – people can’t seem to stop talking about it.
Will LeBron come out and address the situation at any point? Time will tell.
