NBA Referee’s Reaction To Joel Embiid Shot Causes Concern
An NBA referee found himself at the center of controversy this week after fans couldn’t help but notice his reaction to a Joel Embiid shot.
During a recent outing featuring the Philadelphia 76ers, Embiid made a bucket that earned a strong response from one of the members of the officiating crew.
Given some of the recent problems within the sports world featuring gambling, some immediately jumped to certain conclusions regarding the scene.

Big picture, this is probably a lot of hubbub over nothing. It is very easy to misunderstand or misrepresent a short clip.
That said, it is hard not to feel like this is the start of an unfortunate trend that is the direct byproduct of sports gambling.
How will the various leagues respond to the integrity of their officiating crews being regularly questioned? Time will tell.
