Lakers Players Turning On New Coach JJ Redick After Latest Loss
The Los Angeles Lakers got off to a hot start to the 2024-25 NBA season. Unfortunately, they have cooled own since then. Over their last 10 games L.A. is now 4-6.
Not only have the Lakers lost their last two games, but their most recent defeat against the Miami Heat was so humiliating that it seemed to have led to players turning on new head coach J.J. Redick.
Anthony Davis hinted at this postgame.
“We can’t separate. We gotta stay together as a team, as a unit, and make sure that this doesn’t turn into something that we don’t want,” Davis said.

LeBron James, who began to sense that Redick was coming under fire, tried to come to his coach’s defense.
“It’s not on the coaches. It’s definitely on us, for sure,” he said after the game.
That said, even Redick couldn’t hide what was going on.
“I’m embarrassed. We’re all embarrassed,” Redick said. “It’s not a game I thought we had the right fight, the right professionalism … I own this, but need some ownership on the court as well. There’s not a sense from me that we’re together right now.”
This all comes on the heels of the Lakers putting two players on the trade block earlier in the day, and the Washington Wizards’ asking price for L.A. for Kyle Kuzma coming to light.
Los Angeles now sits at the bottom of the Western Conference playoff race and finds itself in a very familiar position.
Will the Lakers be able to turn their season around? Or is Redick already doomed to be the next head coach fired by this front office? Time will tell.
