Kyrie Irving Explains Bad Communication With Luka Doncic (Video)
The Los Angeles Lakers earned the biggest come-from-behind win of the NBA season this weekend when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 111-108.
Despite getting off to a 48-21 lead, the Mavs slowly let L.A. back in the game. By the time halftime rolled around, what was once a 27-point advantage had been cut in half.
In the end, though, despite everything, Dallas still had a chance to win the game.
Then came a particularly bad turnover during a sequence between Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.

After the game, Irving faced the reports following a loss once again.
This time he explained why he and Doncic couldn’t get on the same page.
“I thought Luka needed a little bit more room, so I threw it towards the backcourt,” Irving explained.
“Because I thought Jarred Vanderbilt did a great job denying him. So I thought he was just going to let it bounce like twice and then go grab it.
“But once I saw him trying to save it from halfcourt, I looked at him maybe like a minute later and was like, ‘You know you go backcourt.’ and he’s like, ‘Ah man, it’s my fault.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, it’s all good.'”
The Mavericks are now 5-5 in their last 10 and don’t look any better after their big trade for Irving than they did prior to it.
Irving explained last week why Dallas was struggling right now. But that doesn’t provide much solace for fans.

The Mavs are 32-30 and sit sixth in the West at the moment.
Just three games separate them from the 13th place Oklahoma City Thunder.
Will Doncic and Irving be able to get on the same page at some point between now and the end of the season? Time will tell.
