Jayson Tatum’s Signature Shoe Leaks, Earns Mixed Reactions (Photos)
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is in the midst of a career year.
Obviously he got his team to the NBA Finals last season and is widely regarded as one of the league’s premiere talents, but his 2022-23 campaign thus far has been legitimately MVP-worthy.
As such, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Nike has decided to reward him with a signature shoe.
On Thursday, images of his signature kicks leaked out – to mixed reactions.

Outside of a few of Melo’s sneakers, when has Jordan Brand ever really done their signature athletes right? CP3 had few as well but who else?

Now, to be fair, NBA Twitter is a particularly polarized segment of the population. The group is fickle and notoriously hard to please. Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant learned that lesson the hard way last month.
But yeah, probably not the reaction Tatum was hoping for.
It is always interesting to see how fans react to various shoe releases. For example, when Alex Caruso’s came out, people were calling his “nice than LeBron’s.” Make of that what you will.
LeBron James, meanwhile, got roasted for his most recent output.
There have been so many shoes released by so many stars in recent years, it is hard to really impress folks anymore.
That is likely what is happening here with Tatum.

In case any case, whether Twitter likes his kicks or not, Tatum is going to sell a boatload of them.
And then he is probably going to compete for a title again this season.
Tatum is currently one of the best basketball players in the world, and nothing anyone says on social media about his shoes is going to change that.
