Clippers’ Paul George Names Toughest NBA Player To Score On
Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George is one of the best and most versatile NBA players of his generation.
There are few things, on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball, that he isn’t capable of doing.
As such, George is uniquely qualified to assess his peers’ offensive and defensive abilities.
During a recent podcast appearance, George tackled an interesting topic: who the toughest player in the league to score on is.
In George’s estimation? It is Boston Celtics star, Jrue Holiday.
“Jrue got locks, he got locks, he’s strong as s***, he’s quick, and like he loves to play defense,” George said.

“That is the worst trait that you can go up against somebody that just loves to play defense, and like those are always the toughest match-ups for me offensively when the guys are like super shorter than me.”
Over the course of his career, George has faced off against Holiday 30 different times. In those match-ups, he has averaged just 17.9 points on 39.7 percent shooting from the field. That is considerably lower than the 20.7 points per game on 43.9 percent shooting from the field that he has posted throughout his career.
Needless to say, the respect George has for Holiday’s game is warranted. Moreover, he isn’t the only one to speak glowingly of his rival’s defensive tenacity. Kevin Durant famously said something very similar about Holiday.

The Celtics are a virtual lock to come out of the Eastern Conference this year.
Los Angeles, for better or worse, is a contender.
Will George and Holiday ultimately face off in the NBA Finals this season? Time will tell.
