The Los Angeles Clippers held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new Intuit Dome arena this week.
Naturally, because of the importance of the event, the team’s two biggest stars were in attendance.
Only Kawhi Leonard and Paul George didn’t exactly display the level of enthusiasm you’d expect for such a momentous occasion.
The video largely speaks for itself:

One person who found that absolutely hilarious? Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Jokes notwithstanding, it’ll be interesting to see where the Clippers go from here. Team owner Steve Ballmer offered some very cryptic comments regarding Leonard’s future this week. That coupled with the blockbuster trade the team has been linked to in recent days could result in the roster looking much different heading into 2021-22 than anyone might’ve originally expected.
Ballmer, for his part, doesn’t seem concerned about what lays ahead. In fact, he sees Los Angeles Lakers fans as being ‘threatened’ by him and his team.
“There’s 30 teams in the league,” he told ESPN NBA insider Ramona Shelburne. “There’s 29 others. And we got one that happens to be based in L.A. And we got our fans. We use our expression, ‘LA Our Way.’ And we’re building our own presence, identity.
“And if the other guys feel a little threatened — the other guys’ fans, I mean; the players are actually a little different deal — but if they feel a little threatened, that’s OK. It means we’re doing good.”

The Lakers have made some pretty considerable changes of their own as of late. Time will tell if it was for better or worse.
Either way – the LA basketball wars promise to be more exciting than ever come the new season. Buckle up, it should be a fun ride.
