Lakers Star Embroiled In Wild DMs Controversy (Photos)

The Los Angeles Lakers are heading into one of the most important seasons in franchise history.

Last year’s embarrassing run, one that saw the team fail to qualify for the playoffs, was excused away by citing numerous injuries that impacted the squad’s fortunes.

One key piece that was consistently out for L.A. last year was Kendrick Nunn. Well, he’s back in 2022-23 – and most expect him to be a starter.

Unfortunately, Nunn found himself in the headlines for something unrelated to his basketball prowess this week.

According to BSO, an uncomfortable situation unfolded recently when his other half Blen Kiya made it a point to virtually confront a woman Nunn had allegedly been DMing.

“Blen Kiya is serious about him even though he cheats on her with other women,” the report read. “She is going the extra mile by fighting with the bunch of women he has been messaging on Instagram.”

The DMs in question largely speak for themselves:

The woman Nunn stands accused of DMing, Allison Contreras, maintains she has done nothing wrong.

In fact, she suggests that if anyone is in the wrong here, it’s Nunn.

Contreras hasn’t even bothered to make her Instagram private over this whole mess. She boasts around 5,000 followers and seems pretty content continuing to live her life.

Blen Kiya, for what it’s worth, has a considerably larger following on the platform.

She currently has nearly 40,000 fans following her on her journey. Blen Kiya routinely puts out post of this nature:

To date, Nunn has not commented on this mess. Time will tell if that’ll eventually change.

Nunn certainly isn’t the first player to get caught up in a controversy of his nature. A Los Angeles Clippers star had the same thing occur not long ago when he got exposed for cheating on his girl.

And even LeBron James isn’t immune to DMs scandals involving Instagram models.

But this is still a distraction that neither Nunn nor the Lakers needed right now.

It will be interesting to see how all parties involved move forward from here.

Obviously if the Lakers get off to a hot start, nobody will care and Nunn will be a hero for his contributions.

Should the opposite occur, though – don’t be surprised if Nunn ends up being collateral damage for a Lakers squad desperately trying to regain some semblance of respectability.
