Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss’ Fiancé Sparks Outrage With Controversial Tweets
Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss is engaged to famed comedian Jay Mohr.
The two have reportedly been dating quietly for the better part of the last five years, but obviously the relationship has been taken to the next level with their pending nuptials.
Unfortunately, what should have been a happy day quickly took a turn when it came out that Mohr had repeatedly used the n-word in his various tweets over the past few years.
The screenshots speak for themselves:
Yikes.
It genuinely feels like the Lakers simply cannot stop taking Ls in any way, shape or form lately. On the court. Off the court. It doesn’t matter.
Mind you, in a season where Robert Sarver already got busted being racist to the point of having to sell the Phoenix Suns, this is the last thing anyone in the league needed.
Earlier this year Buss landed in Twitter controversy of her own after a series of very provocative tweets went viral.
But obviously this is way worse.
All in all, this has been brutal week for the Lakers. Anthony Davis getting hurt and being ruled out for at least a month radically changed the team’s plans regarding potential trades.
Now it feels like a big move is unlikely.
And if a big move is in fact unlikely, then the Lakers will likely keep being what they have been for the better part of two seasons now – one of the worst squads in the league.
Buss evoked a lot of enthusiasm when she initally took a more prominent role in team affairs. A championship soon followed – which only bolstered her reputation among fans.
May as well put the 49ers in the Super Bowl now. https://t.co/JuNej3Bt2P

Since that title, though – it has been one misstep after another.
This controversy surrounding her beau is just the latest example of that.
An organization that used to get everything right simply can’t seem to get anything right anymore.
