Ja Morant’s Sister Niya’s Wild Video Causes A Stir
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has obviously had something of a hectic last few months.
Between his run of off-the-court problems and the 25-game suspension he earned from the NBA as a result, Ja has been a mainstay in the news cycle.
This week, his sister Niya caused something of a stir when a wild video of her went viral.
Niya, 18, is also a burgeoning basketball star and committed to Mississippi Valley State University this past year.
This week, rumors of a romance between rapper FTO Sett and Niya began to run rampant after a wild video seemingly featuring them went viral.
FTO Sett is based in Memphis and was signed to 1017 by rap legend Gucci Mane after the latter posted his bond last year.
This isn’t the first time in recent months a member of the Morant’s family connection to a rapper landed them in the headlines.
Ja famously went mega-viral not long ago after taking Drake’s girl. He has since moved on to a new lady, though. He has also been linked to a pretty notable tennis star.
Now it’s his sister whose love life is becoming front page news.
All that aside, it will be interesting to see where Ja goes from here.
He is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in the NBA today, but his off-the-court issues are becoming a nuisance for the Grizzlies.
Last week the front office went out and acquired Marcus Smart from the Boston Celtics. The hope, obviously, is that he will be able to provide this young Memphis team with the veteran leadership it desperately needs.
And if there is anyone who won’t be afraid to put Ja in his place – it’s definitely Smart. There’s a reason Jayson Tatum said what he said about him.

Still, the onus is on Ja to grow up.
If past is truly prologue, this probably isn’t the last time in the coming weeks the Morant family will find itself in the headlines. What will they ultimately go viral for next? Time will tell.
