Bri Bauer’s Relationship With Timberwolves’ Gersson Rosas Comes Under Scrutiny

Bri Bauer’s Relationship With Timberwolves’ Gersson Rosas Comes Under Scrutiny

The Minnesota Timberwolves fired President of basketball operations Gersson Rosas on Wednesday.

Less than 24 hours later, troubling details emerged about the reason for his termination.

One of the allegations that has been made in the immediate aftermath is that Rosas engaged in an extramarital affair with another member of the Timberwolves organization.

The romantic relationship was described as “consensual” by multiple reports.

Although Rosas’ purported partner in the affair has yet to be formally revealed, online sleuths seem to have stumbled upon one potential candidate.

“Bri Bauer, VP of Communications & Engagement, is no longer listed on the Timberwolves website,” reported Pierre Noujaim of Fox 9 Minneapolis.

Bauer was initially hired by the Timberwolves in 2019, roughly four months after Rosas.

“Bri Bauer named Timberwolves & Lynx Vice President of Communications & Engagement,” the organization said in a statement at the time. “In this position Bauer will oversee the organization’s communications group & manage the team’s relationships w/ Fox Sports North, WCCO Radio & the Wolves Radio Network.”

The statement has since been scrubbed from the web by the Wolves.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, Rosas’ alleged affair came to light after a recent soccer game.

“Ownership was made aware of Rosas’ transgressions with the staffer when team officials were provided with photographic evidence of their connection,” he wrote.

“It seems few if any in Minnesota and around the league had general knowledge of Rosas’ relationship until Wednesday, when the news quickly spread throughout the organization, and to rival team personnel, like wildfire. Rosas and the woman, each of whom is married, were seen kissing in a suite during a Minnesota United FC game last Saturday at Allianz Field, sources said.

“The soccer club was told to reserve luxury seating for several Timberwolves players and personnel, including assistant coach Pablo Prigioni. Two seats were filled by Rosas and the staffer. Those pictures have been obtained by Bleacher Report. One photograph is a close-up shot, clearly showing Rosas and the woman sitting beside one another in light blue cushioned seats, behind the suite’s protective plexiglass. A second photograph follows, where the two have leaned towards one another for a romantic embrace.”

It will be interesting to see if the fallout from this entire ordeal impacts the Timberwolves’ ability to get Ben Simmons.

Rosas was steadfast in his refusal to include one particular player in any negotiations with the Philadelphia 76ers. With him gone, that can now change.
