LeBron James set the NBA world ablaze over All-Star Weekend when he reiterated that he wanted to play the final season of his professional career alongside his son, Bronny.
LeBron’s revelation in itself wasn’t new. He had said before that this was the way he hoped to close out his NBA run. Much has been made regarding which team is in the best position add both members of the James family and how likely it ultimately is.
That said, the immediacy of Bronny’s looming NBA eligibility coupled with LeBron clearly being in the end game of his career has led many to wonder how feasible a team-up between him and his son truly is.
This week, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban weighed in on the likelihood of his squad ultimately drafting Bronny.
“I don’t know. I don’t know,” Cuban said on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take podcast.
“It depends on the circumstances and how good Bronny is. Would I just burn (a second-round pick) just to burn it? Probably not. And again, we’ll have this guy named Luka (Doncic) who is really, really good. And so it would really depend on the team that we have around him.”
At the end of the day, a lot of variables need to align in order for LeBron and Bronny to team up. It remains to be seen if they ultimately will.
But by the sound of things, if all those variables do end up aligning – it won’t be in Dallas. The Mavericks have bigger fish to fry.

Cuban has one thing on his mind, and it’s not helping LeBron fulfill his goal of playing alongside Bronny.
The Mavericks owner has championship aspirations. Whether they’ll ultimately come to fruition or not remains to be seen.
