LeBron James’ 1 Big Rule For New Lakers Teammate Bronny
The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny James with the second overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
The move was not without controversy. Bronny played terribly in the preseason, leading to questions about how NBA-ready he truly is. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he also beefed with a teammate. That obviously isn’t great this early in his pro journey either.
All that said, regardless of anyone else’s opinions, he is a member of the Lakers now. And as such, he will have the opportunity to play alongside his dad, LeBron James, next season.
This week, LeBron spoke out about the one rule he has for Bronny when it comes to being on the Lakers.
“He cannot call me ‘dad’ in the workplace,” LeBron noted.
“At home, I could be ‘dad.’ [But on the court], he’s gotta call me ‘2-3’, or ‘Bron,’ or ‘GOAT’ if he wants to. That’s up to him … [But he] cannot be running down the court and be like, ‘Dad, I’m open!’ He cannot do that.”
Is @KingJames cool with Bronny calling him “Dad” on the court? 👀🏀#TheShop Live From Paris premieres this Thursday, 8/29 on our YouTube channel!

Bronny has been in the headlines a lot recently. Between his girlfriend’s wild new photos going viral and the anticipation for his regular season pro debut – all eyes are on him.
Will Bronny be able to deliver on the hype? Time will tell.
