The ongoing feud between Kanye West and Drake took a strange turn recently when the latter released his new album, Certified Lover Boy.
This week, things escalated when Drake seemingly leaked an unreleased track from West in which the Chicago-bred rapper takes a shot at LeBron James and his son, Bronny.
Drake and LeBron are so close that the Los Angeles Lakers star got in trouble with the NBA over it this year. So in some ways it makes sense that West would target him, but in other ways it still feels like a bit of a reach.
The lyrics come from ‘Life of the Party’ and largely speak for themselves:
Kanye dissed LeBron for not taking his high school kids (one is a top 30 prospect) to the “I promise school” in Akron that’s built for at risk kids and only teaches grades 1-8. You can’t make this up 😭 pic.twitter.com/SPBh2Q82RQ

“Where my mother**kin’ red hat? //
“Security and the nannies be forever handling. //
“I can’t stand it when there’s talks about putting the kids back in Sierra Canyon when daddy got his own school.”
The reference there seems to be a clear shot at LeBron given the fact that Bronny is enrolled at Sierra Canyon and his dad has his own school, the ‘I Promise School’ in Akron, Ohio.
Naturally, Twitter had some reactions:

Good that Kanye dissed LeBron he is a snake, he use to rock with Yeezy before 2016 and then when Kanye was going through a hard time he switched it up with Drake

Oh, Kanye. He probably mad that lebron likes drake or something. Love Kanye but that whole beef is childish.

LeBron might’ve let the diss towards him slide, but it’s unlikely he’ll simply let the shot at Bronny pass. He takes his father role very seriously. Don’t forget, he literally fought with a guy for bashing Bronny’s hooping skills.
LeBron is no joke when it comes to his kids.
How will the Lakers star ultimately respond to West’s dig? Time will tell.
Pray for LaMelo. https://t.co/19CUdeNwCM
