Oklahoma City Thunder star Josh Giddey came under scrutiny this past month for an alleged encounter with a young woman by the name of Liv Cook.
While the precise details of what their relationship look like remain unconfirmed, multiple troubling videos and photos have emerged.
It didn’t help Giddey any that, immediately after the allegations went viral, his Thunder teammates scrubbed problematic tweets involving him from their social media accounts.
Following the allegations being made, Giddey’s family went on the offensive and made some damning allegations against Cook.
This week, new details emerged.
According to the New York Post, the real reason Giddey opted to break up with Cook is because he discovered she wasn’t the age she said she was.
Giddey believed that “the California teen he was pictured shirtless alongside in pics leaked on social media was 19 when they met at a nightclub in 2021… After realizing the girl was under 18 the next day, Giddey is said to have broken off the relationship.”
Further complicating matters is the location of the club in question. The New York Post suggested that it is in Oklahoma City. The age of consent in Oklahoma is 16.
That said, Newport Beach, California, police are said to be investigating this matter. And it is alleged that Giddey was pulled over in Newport Beach twice in 2022. The age of consent in California is 18, though obviously it is unknown why Giddey was there.
All of which is to say – there are still a lot of question marks at work here.
Cook’s parents, for what it is worth, have taken a surprising stance regarding all this.

One way or the other, an investigation into this matter is moving forward.
Eventually, the truth will come out.
Will Giddey and Cook ultimately receive the justice they deserve when everything is said and done? An answer one way or the other will emerge soon enough.
