Hailey Van Lith’s decision to transfer from Louisville to LSU this past summer sent shockwaves throughout women’s college basketball.
Not only did the Tigers literally just win an NCAA Tournament Championship, but they were already returning a stacked roster. Angel Reese alone is arguably the best talent in the sport.
Adding Van Lith on top of that almost seemed unfair.
Unfortunately for LSU, games aren’t won on paper. The defending champs got absolutely humiliated in their season opener this week, falling to Colorado 92-78.
To add insult to injury, prior to the outing taking place, Van Lith sent out a pretty cocky message on social media.

To say that the Buffaloes made her eat her words would be an understatement. And fans made sure she was called out for it accordingly.

This has been a busy few months for Van Lith. Between her provocative outfit choices, wild boat party photos and racy vacation pictures, it has been one thing after another for her.
Maybe the hecticness of the offseason threw her concentration off? Time will tell.

Either way, the college basketball season is an extremely long one.
There is more than enough time for the Tigers to regain their footing.
Will Van Lith be able to guide LSU to another championship and win fans over in the process? An answer one way or the other will emerge this season.
