Anthony Edwards is undeniably one of the faces of the NBA right now.
Although he was embroiled in something of a messy controversy not long ago, it hasn’t tarnished his star one bit.
In fact, he seems more popular than ever.
This week, Edwards spoke to ESPN’s Malika Andrews about a myriad of topics. One of the things he touched on was who he views as the NBA’s greatest of all time (GOAT).

“My GOAT, man, this gonna sound crazy, but Kevin Durant,” he said.
“I mean, I’ve always been a fan, just watching him play as a kid. He’s the first seven-footer I’ve seen put the ball on the floor, scoring off the dribble, so I’ve always been a big fan.”
Durant is a supremely talented player, but most don’t even regard him as the best of his generation. As such, Edwards picking him as the GOAT caught some NBA fans off guard.

I don’t think KD is top 5 all time, but I hate when people act like he’s not worthy to be in a discussion at that level.

That being said – the respect is very mutual.
Just this week, Durant highlighted Edwards as one of the two players he believes will be the faces of the league in 10 years.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been one of the best stories in the NBA this year.
Edwards’ play has been a huge reason why.
With the way things are going, it wouldn’t be all that shocking to hear some young player a decade from now describe Edwards as their GOAT.
