The Los Angeles Lakers signed Andre Drummond on Sunday after he was bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Montrezl Harrell’s blunt response to the move largely represents everyone’s feelings about it.
Drummond averaged 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in 25 starts this season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and will likely be able to do the same in LA.
In the immediate aftermath of the move, fans unearthed an old tweet by Drummond regarding his new Lakers teammate, LeBron James.
The tweet in question hits a bit different now that they’re both representing purple and gold.
one of my goals In life Is to meet an play with or against @KingJames

Big picture, the Drummond addition was huge for the Lakers. After the front office failed to get anything of note done prior to the trade deadline, it looked like the defending champs might be in trouble.
This salvaged the week in a big way.

Obviously LA still needs to figure out a way to cope with James’ troubling health prognosis, but that’s a separate issue.
Drummond will provide them with a huge boost – and that’s all they can ask for at this juncture.
