The Golden State Warriors have been one of the worst and most disappointing teams in the NBA so far this year.
With a 25-25 mark after 50 games, they currently sit 10th in the Western Conference. They had the opportunity to improve at the NBA Trade Deadline, but ultimately opted to reject a pretty substantial trade offer from the Los Angeles Lakers.
All that being said, the season is only slightly more than half way finished. There is still time to right the ship. But only if Golden State executes flawlessly on and off the court over the next few months.
It all starts with nailing the buyout market right now.
As things presently stand, three players have emerged as potential buyout frontrunners for the Warriors.
The first is Otto Porter Jr. Because of the familiarity between him and the organization, he could make for a seamless addition. If the Utah Jazz drop him in the way they are expected to, a reunion with Stephen Curry and Co. could make a ton of sense.
Seth Curry is another player to watch. Although there is obviously some attachment to Charlotte because of the Curry family having roots there, a player like him has little place with the Hornets. More likely than not, a separation is coming. And when it does, Seth’s shooting would be right at home alongside his brother in The Bay.
Finally, don’t sleep on Victor Oladipo. Although he is currently injured, eventually he will get healthy. And when he does, his versatile game could be exactly what the Warriors need.
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors aren’t in a hurry to add anyone right now.

“It opens up an extra roster spot for the Warriors, who have the 14th and 15th vacant,” he wrote. “Don’t expect them to fill the 15th until the final day of the regular season. Don’t expect them to fill the 14th until after the All-Star break. They can keep it open for two weeks and save a chunk more cash.”
When Golden State does finally add someone, though – expect him to be very impactful.
