Did Tejay Antone Throw At Anthony Rizzo Intentionally? (Video)
Did Tejay Antone throw at Anthony Rizzo intentionally on Saturday? Chicago Cubs manager David Ross sure seems to think so.
The incident occurred during the second game of a doubleheader between the Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.
The first outing of the day went relatively smoothly. Chicago took it 3-0, and everyone moved on.
In the second game of the day, things took a turn.
With Antone on the mound at the top of the fourth, the 26-year-old sent a pitch over Rizzo’s head. This immediately prompted outrage from Ross and assistant coach Mike Borzello. Both men were promptly ejected.

Shortly thereafter, Cubs right-hander Adbert Alzolay threw high on Shogo Akiyama.
Reds manager David Bell, as well as Joey Votto and Jesse Winker, all took issue with this. All were immediately given the boot.
When it was all said and done, Cincinnati took the second game 6-5.
Afterward, Ross seemed dead set on the idea that Antone had purposely thrown at Rizzo.
“That’s not a slip,” he said.
“That’s not a miss. That’s not a grab some rosin slip. That was intentional. There is no doubt in my mind.”

Bell, for what is worth, denied the charge.
“There is absolutely no way we throw at anyone, certainly not anyone’s head,” he said.
With everyone sticking to their guns regarding how they feel about what transpired, fans will be left to decide for themselves what really happened Saturday afternoon.
