Michigan came up short in the College Football Playoff this year, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort from quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Against TCU the 20-year-old threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns on 20-of-34 passing. In the end, his squad fell by just six points. Some have since made the case that video evidence proves they were robbed.

Either way, McCarthy wasn’t the only Michigan star that emerged that day. His girlfriend, Katya Kuropas, also went mega-viral.

Kuropas blew up so much, in fact, that she had to put her social media accounts on private afterwards.

This week a photo emerged on her lone remaining public profile of what appears to be a new tattoo.

Fans loved it, obviously. And they seem very eager to see more of Kuropas when McCarthy suits up for the Wolverines next year.

Obviously Kuropas found herself trending for something of an unsavory reason when video of her and McCarthy’s dad set the internet ablaze, but the chatter surrounding that incident seems to have died down. Everyone has moved on.

Based on how much Brian Kelly’s daughter’s wild party photos blew up online this week and all the hubbub surrounding Stetson’s Bennett’s girl, it’s safe to say that Kuropas isn’t the biggest female star in college football yet.

But if last year’s College Football Playoff is any indication, she may get there in 2023-24.

Michigan is heading into next season looking formidable. It really wouldn’t be all that shocking to see them compete for a National Championship once again.

If they do, and if McCarthy plays a prominent role in the efforts, Kuropas will likely be there cheering him on every step of the way.
