Karl-Anthony Towns Gets Real On Awkward Michael Jordan Encounter

Karl-Anthony Towns Gets Real On Awkward Michael Jordan Encounter

The NBA’s All-Star Game came and went this past weekend with one particularly noteworthy event coming from it. During halftime of Sunday’s outing, 75 of the league’s all-time greats were honored.

Naturally, the greatest player of all time was also in attendance.

Michael Jordan’s presence was the source of much chatter and mild controversy, but it also led to something of an awkward exchange involving Karl-Anthony Towns.

It all began with Jordan spotting Towns and Luka Doncic in the same general vicinity. He went running over, but only really acknowledged one of them.

The video largely speaks for itself:

Naturally, social media ran wild with what happened. Particularly since Towns often finds himself on the wrong side of various people’s ire.

This week, Towns attempted to clear the air once and for all on the encounter.

So there you have it. It’s all good between Towns and Jordan, and the internet simply misunderstood what happened in that now-viral clip.

No harm, no foul.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Towns from here on out. He has been acting real bold as of late, and for good reason. As evidenced by his three-point contest victory over the weekend, he is one of the league’s truly elite big men.

But that hasn’t slowed any of the trade chatter surrounding him.

If Towns can lead the Wolves into the playoffs this season, he may end up remaining with the franchise long-term. If not – expect the trade talk to only intensify going forward.
