Karl-Anthony Towns Mocks Lakers During Humiliating Loss

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-83 on Friday night.

While the outing was relatively close in the first half, Minnesota ran away with it in the second half. At one point the Wolves went on a 22-3 run that saw LA held without a field goal for almost eight minutes. In total, they outsourced the Lakers 40-12 in the third quarter.

Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns scored 18 of his 29 points in that third quarter.

Along the way, he couldn’t stop himself from mocking the Lakers when his team officially had the momentum on their side.

With just over a minute remaining in the third quarter, Towns pulled up for this ridiculous shot:

When opposing players start taking shots like that, you know they’re really feeling themselves. Conversely, it also means your team really, really sucks.

After the loss, Lakers big man Anthony Davis went to great lengths to talk about how ‘embarrassed’ he was by his team’s performance. He also reaffirmed that, as things currently stand, the Lakers weren’t going to win a championship.

Obviously the Wolves have a lot of their own problems, but their victory on Friday night was undeniably a big one.

The Lakers are now 7-6 on the year while Minnesota is 4-7.
