The Cincinnati Bengals were regarded by many as the frontrunners to win the AFC North this year. After last season’s Super Bowl run, the expectations made sense.

Unfortunately, things haven’t quite gone according to plan thus far.

Two games into the season Cincinnati is the lone winless squad in their division. This weekend’s defeat to the Dallas Cowboys, in particular, was especially brutal.

One person who had a good time despite the loss was Joe Burrow’s girlfriend Olivia Holzmacher. She showed off a series of photos on her Instagram Stories that said this much:

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Holzmacher has blown up in this fashion. She also went viral in last week’s showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Between her part in the legend of Burrow being a sex god and the pair’s incredible vacation photos together, Holzmacher has been something of a mainstay in the headlines in recent weeks.

And then there are just her standard Instagram posts, which always do massive numbers in their own right:

Big picture, Holzmacher fun times aside, Burrow is off to a rough start in 2022-23.

A week after being sacked seven times by the Steelers he got sacked six times by the Cowboys. Last season he was the NFL’s most sacked quarterback. History looks like it will repeat itself this year.

Back in 2002 David Carr set the current quarterback sacks record at 76. Burrow is on pace for 111 at the moment.

Yikes.

And it’s not like this is a secret. Everyone knows what the problem is.

“I think we’ve given up too many sacks, absolutely,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said after his team’s most recent loss.

Knowing what the problem is and solving it are two different things, though.

Up to this point Holzmacher has likely held out hope that the Bengals would find a way to protect her beau. Hence her light-hearted attitude at games.

But now that it has become clear that isn’t in fact the case, it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see her slow down on the social media activity.

Will the Bengals be able to get their season back on track in the foreseeable future?

Time will tell.
