Is A Big Trade Brewing Between Warriors, Cavaliers?

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be on the verge of a trade that could solve a lot of problems for both clubs.

At this juncture, the writing is on the wall: Collin Sexton is not long for Cleveland. Between the 22-year-old’s repeated clashes with his teammates and the overall direction the franchise is looking to head in, a deal of some sort feels inevitable.

The question now is: with whom?

Interestingly enough, the Golden State Warriors have emerged as a serious contender.

According to NBA insider Evan Dammarell, the “Warriors are intrigued with acquiring Collin Sexton but it would not net the Cleveland Cavaliers someone like James Wiseman or the no. 7 pick in this year’s draft.”

Why isn’t Golden State willing to pay big bucks for someone of Sexton’s caliber?

“The upcoming extension and his overall fit make teams hesitant to acquire him,” Dammarell added.

This past season Sexton averaged 24.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. Those numbers could provide the Warriors with a huge boost, but it’s unclear if they’re willing to part with enough assets to make something happen.

If they are not, there is at least one other team very intrigued by the idea of bringing Sexton aboard.

One way or another, Sexton is getting traded sooner rather than later. Where he will ultimately end up remains to be seen.
