Grizzlies Star Ja Morant Names Best Team In NBA Today (Video)

Ja Morant has turned the Memphis Grizzlies into one of the most promising teams in the NBA today.

Currently, they are 19-11 through the first 30 games of the year and sit right at the top of the Western Conference.

In addition to being an incredible player, Morant is also something of a colorful personality. His confidence is off the charts and he is never afraid to speak in mind.

Case in point: his comments this week on who he perceives to be as the best team in the league at the moment.

During a conversation with ESPN hoops personality Malika Andrews, Morant broke it down like only he can.

“Who do you look at around the league as you’re studying and say, ‘We’re gonna have to run through them?’” Andrews asked.

Morant didn’t skip a beat.

“Celtics,” he replied.

It’s tough to argue with that assessment. Despite losing their head coach in the offseason, Boston has been very strong so far in 2022. It is either them or the Milwaukee Bucks as the class of the East – depending on your personal preference.

As for Morant, his braggadocios words about not fearing anyone in the Western Conference make sense. On and off the court, his swagger is immense. This a guy who not only took Drake’s girl, but then promptly moved on to someone else entirely shortly thereafter.

Plus, Morant always seems to get a little more honest when he speaks to Andrews. So him opening up as he did in this particular interview is unsurprising.

Morant propelled the Grizzlies to new heights last season, and it looks like he plans on doing the exact same thing this year.

Is an NBA Finals showdown between Memphis and the Celtics ultimately going be in the cards in 2023?

It is certainly beginning to look that way.
