Grizzlies Requiring Ja Morant To Meet Conditions Before Returning

The Memphis Grizzlies are requiring Ja Morant to meet a series of conditions before he is eligible to return to the team.

Morant, 23, found himself in hot water last week after publishing a video where he seemingly was brandishing a firearm following a night of partying.

That led to a cascading effect of him being suspended and the police getting involved.

Now many are wondering when the All-Star will have the opportunity to return to the court.

According to ESPN NBA insider Tim MacMahon, in order for Morant to return certain conditions must be met.

“I can’t share details. There’s definitely steps that are going to need to be met personally and professionally as he deals with some stuff personally to get better,” Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said.

“Then obviously the expectations on the team, he’s going to have some things that he’s going to have to clear to know what the expectations are when he does return.”

Apparently, though – Morant understands the gravity of what is happening here.

“Again, he’s out at least the next four games,” Jenkins continued.

“I know everyone wants to know what’s this going to be. It’s the hot topic for sure, but he’s taking time. His responsibility to get better personally – that’s a big factor in this. And also, his responsibility to the team is something we’re addressing with him. He’s fully on board and has been communicative with our group.”

Morant’s fall from grace has been incredible. He has somehow gone from becoming the face of the league and taking Drake’s girl to being accused of being a gang member and being kept off the court.

It has been stunning to see.

Will this entire unfortunate saga prove to be the wake-up call Morant needed to get his life together?

Time will tell, but if it isn’t – then the Grizzlies are going to have a real problem on their hands.
