Sam Ehlinger Is Going To Be Very Good This Year, Says Kirk Herbstreit
Sam Ehlinger is going to be very good this year, according to ESPN college football guru Kirk Herbstreit.
Ehlinger, 20, enters this season at the helm of a Texas offense that is expected to do big things. The Longhorns debuted at No. 10 in the AP Top 25 poll this week – the same as their ranking in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Texas has not been ranked this highly in the polls since the 2010 preseason, and a lot of that has to do with the expected progression of Ehlinger.
Back in 2010, Texas was coming off a 13-1 campaign that saw them win the Big 12 title and earn a BCS national title game appearance versus Alabama.
Conversely, this year, they are coming in off a 10-4 showing that saw them come up short in the Big 12 title game against Oklahoma.
Ehlinger may just be worth the hype, though.

According to Herbstreit, Ehlinger is his No. 3 player for the “Ultimate Herbie” award and is his pick for the third best dual threat quarterback threat in college football.
On top of that, Herbstreit also picked Ehlinger as his “All-Intangible” player for the upcoming season.
Considering the level of talent at quarterback across college football this year, that is pretty lofty praise.
Texas kicks off the season against Louisiana Tech on August 31.
