Ed Orgeron Mercilessly Trolled By Alabama After LSU Loss
Alabama dominated LSU on Saturday to the tune of a 55-17 victory at Tiger Stadium. Given the general trajectories both programs have been on over the past few months, the end result was not a surprise.
What was mildly intriguing, however, is just how much resentment the Crimson Tide had towards last year’s National Champs.
This bad blood was on full display after the game in several ways.
First and foremost, Alabama sophomore defensive lineman Byron Young took to Twitter after the outing and trolled LSU head coach Ed Orgeron for absolutely losing it on the sidelines following DeVonta Smith’s second touchdown of the day.

The “Roll tide what?” jab used by Young was a callback to Orgeron using that very phrase as a slogan in the aftermath of LSU’s win over Alabama last year. It became so popular that they even started putting it on t-shirts.
Beyond that, Young wasn’t the only Crimson Tide family member to poke at LSU. Alumnus and current Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey did the same by highlighting how badly Smith outplayed the Tigers’ secondary and suggesting that LSU could no longer be considered “Defensive Back U.”

The Tigers initially earned that title by producing the likes of Tyrann Mathieu, Patrick Peterson and Jamal Adams – but Saturday night’s showing against quarterback Mac Jones and Smith certainly did not conjure up too many memories of those lockdown defensive backs.
Jones threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns, while Smith had eight catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns.
Big picture – this has been a rough year for LSU. It started in the offseason when all their most prominent assistants left for other jobs following 2019’s National Championship victory. It continued with their biggest stars turning pro and heading to the NFL.
Then there was that whole Coach O-bedroom-photos-leaking-out situation.

Now the Tigers sit at 3-5 on the year, good for fifth place in the SEC West behind Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn and Ole Miss.
Obviously off years happen, and LSU is currently going through one. But it just feels like it has been one embarrassing hit after another for this program in 2020.
If everything goes back to normal in 2021 then obviously all of the squad’s recent woes will be forgotten. Should that not occur, however– then all of a sudden Coach O might start feeling the heat a little bit.
