Chicago Bulls’ Asking Price For Alex Caruso In Any Trade

Alex Caruso has quietly carved out a niche for himself in the NBA over the last few years as one of the league’s more reliable role players.

When the Chicago Bulls were competing for a title last year, his presence made a lot of sense for the franchise. Now that they have come back down to earth, however – rumors regarding him possibly getting dealt have started to emerge.

To date five NBA teams have expressed interest in Caruso’s services, with two in particular being viewed as the favorites.

That said, it’s difficult to see anything actually materializing given what the Bulls are apparently demanding in any trade for him.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the Bulls are expecting two first rounders for Caruso.

Caruso is an undeniably crafty player. That said, he is also averaging 5.5 points, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 3 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game for Chicago.

Do those constitute the stats of someone who is worth two first rounders?

Probably not.

The Bulls are 22-26 and sit 11th in the Eastern Conference. Regardless of what anyone from the organization says, there is a far greater likelihood of this team being a seller at the NBA Trade Deadline than buyer.

There is a reason two NBA teams are currently circling the waters for Zach LaVine. Everyone can smell the blood in the air.

Last year Chicago surprised a lot of people with how well the team looked in the beginning of the season. They petered out towards the second of the season and into the playoffs, and they haven’t been able to reclaim their momentum ever since.

Trades are likely looming for the Bulls. Will Caruso for two first rounders be one of the moves that occurs? An answer should emerge at some point in the next few weeks.
