Brian Windhorst’s Honest Take On Bronny James As A Player

Bronny James is the most highly-scrutinized high school basketball player in the nation.

In addition to being supremely talented in his own right, Bronny also happens to be the son of arguably the greatest NBA player ever.

Understandably, many are curious about what the future holds for him at the collegiate level and beyond.

This week, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst offered his two cents on the topic.

“[Bronny] plays the game [in] such the right way,” Windhorst said on The Bill Simmons podcast.

“He was in much better condition as a 14, 15, 16-year-old than his dad was [at the same age]. … That kid has poured in the work, and you can tell he really cares about the way he plays.”

Windhorst is deeply familiar with LeBron’s game. The fact that he would have such high praise for Bronny is telling. Particularly given how honest he has been in the past about Bronny’s NBA odds and how he stacks up against younger brother Bryce.

It will be fascinating to see where Bronny goes from here. Bryce is widely regarded as the superior physical prospect, but it really seems like Bronny is made of something special mentally. He is virtually unflappable, despite being incredibly young.

Whether it’s hoops drama or girl drama – nothing slows him down. He just keeps grinding away, working towards his end goal.

At the moment, five historically great college basketball programs are actively recruiting Bronny. It remains to be seen which one will ultimately get him.

And from there – the NBA likely follows.

It seems like there is one franchise out there really well-positioned to draft Bronny and sign LeBron, but a lot of pieces need to align for that to occur.

If it does end up happening though – it would be epic. One for the history books.

Bronny has an interesting next few years ahead of him. So far, he is doing everything right.

Will that continue to be the case?

Time will tell.
