5 College Basketball Powerhouses Recruiting Bronny James

5 College Basketball Powerhouses Recruiting Bronny James

Bronny James is one of the most talked-about young high school recruits in the country.

As the son of LeBron James, there was always going to be a certain amount of hype surrounding the 17-year-old. But between his flashes of brilliance on the court and cool head off it, Bronny has proven that the hoopla is justified.

The question on everyone’s mind now is: what’s next for him?

At the moment, Bronny playing college ball feels inevitable.

According ESPN insider Paul Biancardi, five bigtime universities are in the process of recruiting Bronny.

“Although it’s still relatively early in the recruiting process, there is a strong feeling he will take the college route as opposed to the G League Ignite or other developmental leagues,” Biancardi wrote. “He is being pursued by the likes of UCLA, USC, Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon, among others.”

While Bronny recently plummeted in the national rankings, the dip hasn’t done much to decrease his stock. Clearly universities are still very intrigued by him.

In the past, Bronny has been connected to four of the most respected college basketball programs in the nation. Although some no longer appear interested in him, clearly there is still enough that are.

Physically, Bronny is developing at a rapid rate. Even though he is smaller than his little brother, Bryce, his athleticism is strong. That coupled with his mental strength should make him a force at the next level.

How mentally strong is Bronny? He’s almost NBA-level in that regard. When you factor in his controversial photos with his new girlfriend and the blame he got for Russell Westbrook becoming a Laker and how neither of those things rattled him whatsoever – it’s incredibly impressive.

Time will take if he has what it takes physically to make the next jump to the next level, but he definitely checks all the right boxes mentally.

Over the next few months a clearer picture of Bronny’s college prospects should emerge.

When it does, it’ll be fascinating to see how he plays when he takes a step up in competition.
