In late March a troubling scene occurred for the Miami Heat. Team star Jimmy Butler and head coach Erik Spoelstra had a very frosty exchange, resulting in several threats of a fight breaking out.
Things got very tense, very quickly.
Ultimately, the Heat moved past it and maneuvered their way into the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
This week, however – an interesting report emerged.
During a recent episode of Undisputed, Skip Bayless suggested that the reason Butler was unhappy with Miami a few weeks back is because of some lingering issue with guard Victor Oladipo.
“He (Butler) almost burned out Spo, what was it three weeks ago?” Bayless said.
“And I told you it was a north-south moment for that team… So I was told, he’s got some personal issue that I do not know exactly what it is, with Victor Oladipo.”
Make of that what you will.
Obviously Butler marches to the beat of his own drum. Whether it’s the weird rumors surrounding him and Rachel Nichols or his problems with other players — there’s always something going on with him. This is just par for the course.
That said, Oladipo is also no stranger to stirring up drama. Who knows who’s actually at fault for this supposed tiff between him and Butler.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out for Miami in the coming weeks. Obviously if they win a championship or come close to it, this so-called beef between Butler and Oladipo will be moot.
Should things fall apart over the next few weeks, though – expect questions regarding what precisely is going on with them to bubble up once more.
