Novak Djokovic is coming off a rough weekend, but he is still widely regarded as one of the best tennis players in the world today.
This past Sunday, teenager Holger Rune defeated Djokovic in a stunning upset in the final of the Paris Masters.
As crazy as the outcome was, it wasn’t the reason Djokovic found himself trending on social media.
Rather, the reason why Djokovic ultimately went viral this weekend was because of a suspicious-looking video of him that blew up on Twitter:
Don’t be suspicious! Don’t be suspicious! pic.twitter.com/Y2SH9ioYB4

One eagle-eyed observer quickly pointed out that this wasn’t the first time something like this occurred.

Yes this was already discussed when this happened. It’s a powder. An approved powder. Not the stuff in the original tweet video? No clue

That said, whereas that incident was explained away fairly easily, this present one remains a mystery.
Fan reaction to the clip was telling:
I have so many questions

This has been a wild year for the sport of tennis. Between it getting its very own version of Paige Spiranac, NBA star Ja Morant setting his sights on one particular player and Genie Bouchard’s provocative outfit setting the internet ablaze – it has been one thing after another.
In some ways, this Djokovic drama is just par for the course.
No wonder LSU played so hard. https://t.co/9IWEcD61bd

Will Djokovic or one of his representatives ultimately come out and address this video?
Will a clear answer emerge regarding what was in the bottle and why everyone involved in the making of it was acting so suspiciously?
Time will tell.
