Willie Fritz Will Be The Next Head Coach At Missouri

Willie Fritz will be the next head coach at Missouri, if he has anything to say about it.

Fritz, 59, has been the head coach at Tulane since 2016. With him at the helm the program has just qualified for its second bowl game in row.

Prior to that he coached Sam Houston State to consecutive FCS National Championship game appearances in 2011 and 2012.

Over the course of his career, he has put together a record of 196-76.

According to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, Fritz is going to speak to Missouri about their vacancy this week and considers the position his “dream job.”

Missouri recently fired Barry Odom after a disappointing fourth season that saw the program finish 6-6.

Prior to that, in his first three seasons, Missouri finished 4-8, 7-6, 8-5 and 6-6 respectively.

Regardless of whether Fritz ultimately gets the job or not, this much is clear: the next head coach at Missouri will not have a high bar to clear to be better than his predecessor.
