Victor Wembanyama Names His Favorite Player In NBA

Victor Wembanyama is the most highly-touted prospect available heading into the 2023 NBA Draft.

The consensus on him at the moment seems to be that he is a generational talent who will alter the fortunes of any franchise that attains him.

New photos of his recent body transformation have only further raised his stock in the eyes of many teams.

Recently Wembanyama sat down for a far-reaching interview that covered many topics. One interesting one in particular was who his favorite NBA player is.

A few days ago, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo appeared on on Serge Ibaka’s “How Hungry Are You?” and spoke glowingly of Wembanyama.

“My friend, you will be in the league when this kid comes. Get ready, because if you’re not ready, this kid is going to be a problem,” Antetokounmpo said.

“Big problem. I’ve never seen this before in my life. I saw him up close, he was on the same team as my brother… He’s taller than Rudy Gobert.

“He can block shots like Rudy but shoot like KD. Bro. Bro. Crazy. Crazy. He has a good attitude. If he stays healthy, he’s going to be really good.”

Wembanyama heard the comments, and apparently they meant a ton to him because Antetokounmpo is actually his favorite current NBA player.

“It’s cool to see Giannis saying this stuff, because he’s probably my favorite player,” Wembanyama said.

“He’s such a humble guy. He talks about the work I need to keep doing, because he knows how it is to come from the bottom.

“It’s nice to see him talk about me like this, especially because I played with his brother. They do really look alike. I really appreciate these guys. They’re really generous and humble. I really like the Antetokounmpos.”

The mania surrounding Wembanyama is nuts. Michael Jordan’s feelings on drafting him pretty much echo those of the whole NBA’s.

Whoever gets him will get something special.

Will Wembanyama go on to have the sort of incredible career that his favorite player, Antetokounmpo, has had in the NBA? Time will tell.
