Tom Brady’s Response To Eli Manning Retiring Goes Viral

Tom Brady’s response to Eli Manning retiring went viral on Friday.

This week, Manning officially announced that he was leaving the NFL.

The decision came after seemingly realizing that his days as a starter in the league were finished. With little interest in serving as a backup for another season, Manning opted to call it quits.

While Manning had many memorable moments over the course of his career, the two most notable ones were his pair of Super Bowl victories over the New England Patriots.

On Friday, Brady took to social media to congratulate Manning on a great career – while also taking a bit of a self-deprecating shot at himself in the process.

“Congratulations on your retirement, and a great career Eli,” he wrote.

“Not going to lie though, I wish you hadn’t won any Super Bowls.”

Manning first made his mark on the world at Super Bowl XLII, where he led the Giants past the Patriots and won Super Bowl MVP honors in the process.

Four years later, he did it again at Super Bowl XLVI.

While there is a legitimate debate to be had regarding Manning’s worthiness as a Hall of Famer, it is undeniable that he left a lasting impact on the NFL during his tenure in the league.
