Paul Chryst Loses Wisconsin Star To Transfer

Paul Chryst lost a Wisconsin star to transfer this week.

On Friday, senior running back Bradrick Shaw announced that he will be leaving the program and entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.

With Badgers star Jonathan Taylor departing for the NFL this summer, many thought that Shaw would slide into his role.

Apparently, that will not be the case.

In a message on social media, Shaw revealed that he will be going elsewhere in 2020 as a graduate transfer.

“I am eligible for a sixth year medical hardship,” he wrote on Twitter.

“At this point in my life and my football career, it is best for me to pursue opportunities to play elsewhere, and for this reason I will be entering into the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.

“I will forever be a Badger and cherish these awesome memories for the rest of my life!”

Over the course of five years with the Badgers Shaw recorded 938 yards and 10 scores on 202 carries. He did not play in 2015 or 2018.

The big question now becomes: who will take over at running back for Wisconsin?

Presumably Garrett Groshek and Nakia Watson will be tasked with picking up the slack, but it remains to be seen how Chryst ultimately compensates for all these ground game losses.
