Tom Brady Has Special Message For Patriots

Tom Brady had a special message for Patriots star Stephon Gilmore this weekend.

Although Brady is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, he is still extremely close to his New England teammates.

As such, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the future Hall of Famer took to social media this weekend to congratulate Gilmore on winning Defensive Player of the Year.

Prior to winning Defensive Player of the Year, Gilmore was also honored with Pro Bowl and All-Pro nods.

“Congrats @bumpnrungilmore on winning such a prestigious award! There was no doubt to me and all our teammates how incredible you played week after week,” he wrote.

“But the work during practice is what we all admired and respected! You worked your ass off and we are all proud of you!!! ‘LOCK EM UP STEPH!!!’”

Gilmore is the first New England player to win Defensive Player of the Year since 1971.

This past season, he led the NFL in interceptions with six total and 20 passes defended.

Gilmore spent the first five years of his pro career with the Buffalo Bills, only making the Pro Bowl once.

Regardless of whether Brady ultimately re-signs with the Patriots or not this offseason, it is clear that his ties to the organization will last for a very long time.
