Texas Rangers Officially Signing Nicholas Castellanos?

Are the Texas Rangers officially signing Nicholas Castellanos?

Castellanos, 27, is reportedly fresh off what has been described as a “successful” meeting with Texas.

The Rangers came into the offseason with the goal of signing key free agents but have not really been able to do so up to this point.

Castellanos would be a huge get and could play either right field or first base for the team.

According to MLB.com insider Jon Morosi, Castellanos emerged from his meeting with Rangers brass impressed by the organization.

The Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants are reportedly the only other teams with a serious chance at signing Castellanos.

Castellanos played for the Detroit Tigers and Cubs last year, hitting .289 overall with 27 homers and 58 doubles.
