Steelers Star Offers Surprising Take On Antonio Brown

A Steelers star offered a surprising take on Antonio Brown this week.

Former teammate and current Pittsburgh wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster did a radio interview on Thursday discussing Brown.

Throughout the interview, Smith-Schuster described the “concern” he had for his former teammate.

“It’s different, for sure,” Smith-Schuster said.

“I’m concerned, like you guys. It’s a tough situation for a guy if you take away his job and his passion.

“Being a guy looking from the outside to the inside, he’s definitely a different dude than who he was on the field.”

On Wednesday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell expressed similar sentiments about Brown.

“The first thing always is to think about the well-being of Antonio, to understand what Antonio is going through,” Goodell said.

“We don’t talk about the wellness of our players publicly, but I can tell you that you can be sure that the NFL and NFLPA have tremendous amounts of resources available to all players. They are going to be made available to Antonio.”

Brown was arrested last week and charged with felony burglary with battery over a January 21 moving truck incident.

The polarizing wide receiver was freed from house arrest this past Tuesday, which allowed him to travel freely.

Brown has been out of the NFL since being cut by the New England Patriots in September 2019 over a sexual assault allegation that was made against him.

It remains to be seen if Goodell ultimately chooses to reinstate him for the 2020-21 NFL season.
