Steelers Make Surprising Devlin Hodges Decision

The Steelers made a surprising Devlin Hodges decision on Sunday.

Pittsburgh fell in disappointing fashion to the Buffalo Bills this week.

With a Wild Card berth on the line, Hodges was terrible against an admittedly strong Buffalo defense. For the day, he completed just 23 of 38 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in the 17-10 defeat.

After the game, head coach Mike Tomlin was asked to commit to whether Hodges’ job was safe.

Tomlin refused to.

“I am not getting into that, guys,” he replied.

“We just lost a football game. I’m not going to make an announcement every week or every time I stand in front of you guys in terms of who is playing quarterback or any other position for that matter.”

Hodges previously won his first three starts, but it appears he still has not earned enough goodwill to secure his post.

If you are a young quarterback trying to make your bones in the NFL, Tomlin’s decision on Sunday is the last thing you want to hear.
