San Diego State Fan Reaction To FAU Win Causes A Stir (Video)

San Diego State came from behind to defeat FAU in the Final Four on Saturday night.

In doing so, the Aztecs earned a berth in the NCAA Title Game against UConn.

Despite trailing by as many as 14 points in the final 15 minutes of the outing, San Diego battled back. With eight seconds remaining in the game, down by one, the Aztecs got a rebound and a final chance to win the whole thing.

Lamont Butler caught the ball with roughly seven seconds left on the clock, went all the way down the court, and promptly hit a 17-footer that sent Florida Atlantic packing.

Understandably, fans in the student section absolutely lost it.

One fan in particular seemed to capture the attention of social media.

The reactions poured in immediately.

Big picture, this year’s March Madness has been full of unexpected stars going viral at games.

Between the FAU fan whose provocative photos blew up online prior to this outing and the Iowa cheerleader who set the internet ablaze during Caitlin Clark’s big South Carolina win, there have been countless examples of it.

This is just the latest one.

Now San Diego State advances to face off against UConn for the championship.

While the Huskies will understandably be viewed as the favorites, the Aztecs proved on Saturday that they shouldn’t be underestimated either.

Will San Diego State be able to pull off the upset win over UConn and ascend to the top of college basketball world in 2023? An answer one way or the other will emerge soon enough.
