Sammy Sosa Skin: Real Reason Why It Is So Much Lighter

Sammy Sosa recently revealed the real reason his skin is so much lighter now than it used to be during his MLB playing days.

Sosa, a Chicago Cubs legend, rose to national prominence during his home run-record race with then-St. Louis Cardinals star Mark McGwire.

Unfortunately, both men’s legacies would eventually go on to be tainted by allegations of performance-enhancing drug (PED) abuse.

Beyond the PED issues, however, Sosa has also been the subject of much scorn over his seemingly changing complexion.

Sosa addressed this matter head on during an interview.

“It’s a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some,” he explained.

“It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I’m not a racist, I live my life happily.”

Sosa played in the big leagues for 19 years. He ultimately retired in 2009. Despite allegations made against him, he had never publicly admitted to using PEDs. In fact, during a 2005 congressional testimony, Sosa’s attorney insisted that his client had “never taken illegal performance-enhancing drugs” and “never injected” himself “or had anyone inject” him in any capacity.
