Antonio Demarco Robbed Of Win Against Giovani Santillan

Will Antonio Demarco fight for a championship showing after his impressive showing on Tuesday evening? Many are arguing that he should, after being robbed by the judges after his match against Giovani Santillan.

Demarco was widely viewed as the over-the-hill underdog heading into his bout against Santillan. Despite this, he overcame the odds and put on a strong display that immediately catapulted him back in the boxing community’s focus.

Prior to the fight, Santillan explained what he felt a victory over Demarco would mean for him.

“I want to get a ranking in the top 15 of any of the major sanctioning body to be considered as a world title challenger, and defeating Antonio Demarco will be a great step in that direction.”

Given how Demarco looked, it stands to reason that all of the accolades that Santillan was on the receiving end of will now be placed at Demarco’s feet.

While the judges may believe that Santillan won, most knowledgable observers watching the bout at home know that the opposite is in fact true.
