Ryan Fitzpatrick Makes Surprising 2020 Dolphins Decision

Ryan Fitzpatrick made a surprising 2020 Dolphins decision this week.

For the past few weeks speculation has run rampant regarding whether Fitzpatrick would return to Miami next year.

The organization had made it clear that it intends to use the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on a passer, so any reunion would be a stopgap at most.

On Friday, Fitzpatrick acknowledged that he would be okay with that.

Appearing on Golic and Wingo’s ESPN radio show, Fitzpatrick was asked if he was returning to Miami in 2020.

“So I’m under contract to be a Miami Dolphin and I want to play football next year,” he replied.

This past season Fitzpatrick recorded 3,529 yards and 20 scores. H

e is still a more than serviceable enough option at quarterback and will serve as a bridge of sorts for whoever comes in at quarterback after him.

In an interview with the Miami Herald’s Adam Beasley a few weeks ago, Miami general manager Chris Grier indicated that he “fully expects” Fitzpatrick to be a member of the team come next year, so this most recent development should come as no big surprise to him.

Will Fitzpatrick start for the entirety of the 2020-21 season at quarterback? We will find out once and for all next season.
