Philadelphia Phillies Will Sign Anthony Rendon

The Philadelphia Phillies will sign Anthony Rendon, it would appear.

Rendon is one of the best players available on the market and it is clear that adding him would be a huge win for Philly.

The 29-year-old hit .319 with 34 homers last year, placing him atop the rankings when it comes to his position.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Rendon is now Philadelphia’s top free agent priority. Team owner John Middleton has reportedly committed to exceeding the luxury tax mark if it means they sign him.

If the Rendon play does not work out, the Phillies will reportedly set their sights on Josh Donaldson as a potential backup.

Between the Zach Wheeler move and their aggressive pursuit of Rendon, it is clear that last year’s decision to bring in Bryce Harper for big money was no fluke.

The Phillies want to field a contender, and they are willing to pay whatever it takes to make that happen.
