Ole Miss Will Hire Lane Kiffin To Be Next Coach

Ole Miss will hire Lane Kiffin to be its next coach, it would appear.

The current FAU head coach has been linked to multiple jobs over the last few weeks.

Up to this point, Arkansas has been the biggest name to reportedly be interested in Kiffin’s services, but Ole Miss seems intent on changing that.

According to Doug Samuels of Football Scoop, “the whisper is that Ole Miss is now a major player in the pursuit of Lane Kiffin’s services.”

Arkansas fans have been tracking planes all day. After doing some digging, the search team led by Hunter Yurachek and Jon Fagg is indeed hopping around talking to candidates. They were in Boca Raton today, per two sources. More interviews scheduled.

Apparently after Kiffin’s Owls are done with the Conference USA title game this weekend, all bets are off as far as programs chasing him.

It remains to be seen whether Kiffin would choose Ole Miss over Arkansas, but either way it seems like bottom-barrel SEC teams just can’t get enough of the former Tennessee coach.

There are also multiple reports that FAU is preparing to make a big play to retain Kiffin and that he loves Florida, so it remains to be seen how that will impact this entire situation.

Either way, though, you have to hand it to Kiffin. Every time you think this guy is down, he scurries back into his hole and then two years later there is always a bidding war for his services.
