Patriots Lose Defensive Star To Injury Before Bills Game

The Patriots have lost a defensive star to injury before the Bills game.

Coming into this weekend, New England is looking to make a statement against Buffalo.

The team is in a tight race with the Kansas City Chiefs for No. 2 in the AFC, obviously. But beyond that, with the postseason around the corner, the Patriots need to start building some momentum.

Unfortunately, they will have to do this without star corner Jonathan Jones.

In a lot of people’s minds, Jones is the top slot corner in the NFL this year. As such, not having him around to make Cole Beasley’s life harder is going to be a blow to the New England secondary.

Jones did not practice all week, so in some ways, this should not come as too big of a surprise.

Beasley is something of a security blanket for Bills quarterback Josh Allen, so not being able to adequately cover him could be problematic for the Patriots.

Beasley ranks second on Buffalo’s roster in receptions and receiving yards, and leads the entire squad when it comes to touchdown receptions.

Earlier this season when the Bills and Patriots faced off, Beasley recorded seven receptions for 75 yards.

Will Bill Belichick ultimately be able to slow Buffalo down without one of his most potent defensive weapons? Time will well.
