Notre Dame To Fire Brian Kelly, Hire Urban Meyer? ESPN Says Yes

Will Notre Dame fire Brian Kelly and hire Urban Meyer? ESPN says yes.

Heading into this past weekend Notre Dame and Michigan appeared to be two teams going in completely different directions.

Notre Dame was in the midst of another solid year and was viewed as favorites over a dysfunctional Wolverines squad that seemingly could not win a big game to save their lives.

Jim Harbaugh was on the hot seat and there was speculation that he was looking for the quickest escape route out of Michigan.

Then Saturday happened, and everything changed.

Michigan absolutely stomped Notre Dame and in the process apparently made a lot of people start to question whether Kelly is the right man to keep leading the Fighting Irish.

While appearing on Get Up on Tuesday, ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum suggested that Notre Dame would be wise to dump Kelly and bring Meyer on board.

“He’s good, not great, Finebaum said.

“He’s never going to win a national championship. The wise move for Notre Dame is to buy Brian Kelly out and bring in Urban Meyer.

You will recall, Meyer was once a Notre Dame assistant reportedly was interested in becoming their head coach before ultimately taking the Florida job.

“Notre Dame is a national championship caliber program, but Brian Kelly is not a national championship caliber coach,” Finebaum continued.

Will Notre Dame ultimately do what Finebaum suggested?

Time will tell.
